1. LBPD Resource Officer Update (Officer Jackson)

Property crime

  • Uptick in vehicle thefts, including cars, vans, and a motorcycle, as well as catalytic converter thefts.

  • Rear license plates are being stolen.

Violent crime

  • A chain-snatch robbery occurred at Falcon and South; a firearm was discharged during the incident.

Traffic safety

  • Traffic safety is a current priority. Officers are conducting enforcement at focused locations and collecting data.

  • Street racing and takeovers: officers are issuing citations and towing vehicles.

Enforcement activity

  • Sex work along the Long Beach Blvd corridor: LBPD is conducting enforcement.

  • Activity also reported near Cherry and Artesia, by Starr King and College Square.
